DISASTER RELIEF BUCKET PROGRAM

1-in-10 American households is affected by a natural disaster each year.

2022 was no different.

We’ve seen devastating tornadoes and historic flooding rip through the state of Kentucky.  Hurricanes Ian and Nicole left a massive trail of destruction in Florida.  And while these large events got the most attention in the national news headlines, there were many others that happened—but didn’t receive the press.

Despite receiving much less media attention, these losses were still life-changing for the communities involved. Each one has required some level of assistance with basic needs such as search-and-rescue, debris clearing, food security, and post-disaster communications.  

To assist communities in the immediate wake of a disaster, we are implementing a Disaster Relief Bucket program.  Anemoi’s Disaster Relief Buckets are five-gallon containers filled with essential home recovery supplies that are needed after a disaster strikes, many of which may not be readily available due to infrastructure breakdown.

Although a seemingly simple program, the impact and reach stands to be large. Our mission is to distribute these buckets to some of the worst-affected victims, in order to aid in their start to recovery.

Our goal is to assemble 100 buckets with supplies, along with a note of encouragement inside each bucket, and keep them at the ready for rapid distribution.  Additionally, we plan to have supplies on hand to transport to disaster areas to refill buckets that have been distributed and/or create new disaster buckets on site.

As disasters are not all the same, our disaster buckets will come in two form factors: one for flooding emergencies and one for debris clean-up.  We also plan to distribute backpacks with personal hygiene items. Click here for details on included items.

We cannot do this alone
and need your help and support. 

Each bucket and backpack costs approximately $75.00 to create. You can sponsor a disaster relief bucket in the following ways:

Option 1: Sponsor a full bucket or backpack. We’ll pack, ship, and distribute it. A “FULL BUCKET” sponsorship costs $75.

Option 2: Sponsor a half-bucket or backpack. We’ll pack, ship, and distribute it. A “HALF BUCKET” sponsorship costs $37.50.

Option 3: Sponsor a one-third bucket or backpack. We’ll pack, ship, and distribute it. A “ONE THIRD BUCKET” sponsorship costs $25.00.
